Achieving Digital Success: My Journey With The Jesi Digital Marketing Course.
The Young and Safe Project started the Jesi Digital Marketing Program, and it has been great. This training helped me gained a lot of insights. It gave me important ideas and strategies that changed how I see digital marketing.
LEARNING ABOUT THE DIGITAL WORLD: A CHANGE IN MINDSET.
It is amazing how life can take you on unexpected yet exciting journeys. Despite my passion for digital marketing, I was held back by fear and a lack of motivation. I attempted to enroll in numerous online classes, but I became disinterested and unmotivated. Just as I was about to give up on my dreams, a wonderful friend introduced me to the Jesi Scholarship. The scholarship provided face-to-face and hands-on educational opportunities, which were just what I needed. I gathered the confidence to apply and was overjoyed when I was called in for an interview.
Before I knew it, the orientation date had been set, and I was ready to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
I was initially concerned about working with other students and understanding hard ideas, but my concerns were quickly destroyed after my first class. The experience was exciting, and I knew I was precisely where I was supposed to be.
Wow, I have to tell you about my experience with the Jesi Program for the Young and Safe! I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders after my first lesson because I already knew some of what the teacher was talking about. The program was a lot of fun, and I liked how they taught us things we could apply in real life. My journey got more flexible and enjoyable thanks to the Young and Safe Jesi Program!
HERE ARE SOME LESSONS I LEARNT
MARKETING
Our tutor introduced the first topic, marketing. My mates and I gave various definitions of the topic. I easily understood marketing to the fullest. After the class, I discovered that marketing covers the actions a business takes to promote the buy or sale of a good or service. Marketing involves selling, delivering, and advertising products to customers or other businesses. Some types of marketing include: traditional, digital, social marketing and advertising.
PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING
We moved on to the next topic, which was the principles of marketing, and our tutor detailed the topic to our understanding. In my time of studying, I knew of only 4 P’s, but this training made me realized there are more P’s in this segment.
I learned that “marketing strategy” is a framework that directs marketing strategies. There are seven Ps: product, place, price, people, physical evidence, promotion, and process that guides and grows a business. They are very necessary in every business we see.
USER RESEARCH
I was new to this topic called user research and everything that comes with it. My thoughts were telling me that I was going to have a challenge but I overcame it. This course deals with consumers’ behaviors and expectations. How consumers react to products.
I got to understand that it assists consumers achieve their objectives and goals. User research focuses on understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations through data collection.
BENEFITS
It helps understand and solve customer problems.
It analyzes the importance of products to customers.
USER PERSONA
With user persona, I feel in love with it. It gave me a better understanding of consumers, bringing up an imaginary version of them, their behaviors, attitudes and expectations towards products on the market.
Based on what I learnt, a user persona is a made-up version of your perfect customer. I can create user profiles by talking to users and organizing them based on their traits.
BENEFITS
It gives knowledge about the user’s behaviors.
It helps businesses create consistency.
EMPATHY MAPPING
Empathy was just talking about consumers’ emotions and attitudes here and there. The concerns of how a product should suit their taste and preferences.
An empathy map is a template that helps businesses understand their users. It organizes their actions and emotions. Companies can use an empathy map to grasp the motivations and concerns of main users. I can also learn about what happens to them.
USER JOURNEY MAPPING
I learned about the different stages in user journey mapping. They include awareness, consideration, conversion, and retention. At every step, I have to improve my approach to meet the specific needs of the users.
User Journey mapping was nice to work with. It caused me to think out of the box. The course basically taught me how to please and retain customers after servicing them.
BENEFITS
It shifts a company’s perspective from inside-out to outside- in.
It uncovers and prioritizes new pain points and roadblocks.
WRITING FOR DIGITAL MEDIA
This aspect of the training involves writing and capturing the attention of users. I gained a solid foundation in digital media creation principles from this training. The course teaches how to use graphics and interactive features on digital platforms. I also learnt how to produce content that is effective.
BENEFITS
It increases audience research.
It builds a lasting relationship with clients.
WRITING TECHNIQUES AND EDITING
We got to this part of the training that deals with writing. I was heels in love with it until we got to a place that got me stuck. I was already giving up on it because of the editing and use of writing tools, which was draining me.
I use writing and editing skills to make content readable and interesting. I need these skills for all kinds of writing, like making articles and sending emails. To create clear and informative writing, I need good writing and editing skills.
PRESS RELEASE
Our tutor introduced a course, press release which I had a fair understanding of. I read books a lot so I came across it most of the times. So I had some understanding from the books that, it is an official announcement.
A press release is an official statement issued by a business to the news media and others if the information is newsworthy. They are also considered primary sources, meaning they include original content.
COPYWRITING
I also discovered copywriting during the training process. Copywriting is the art of creating ads that persuade people to buy things.
I learned more than metrics with the Jesi Digital Marketing Program. The program emphasized on understanding the audience, creating engaging contents, and forming genuine connections. These skills have given my digital marketing efforts a deeper and sincere approach.
CONCLUSION
With time spent during the program, I realized it gave me technical skills. It showed me the importance of always learning and being adaptable in the digital world. I now have greater confidence and the necessary skills to succeed in the digital world.
