Udacity Digital Marketing Nanodegree Overview:

Source: Udacity.com

This Nanodegree program is a part of the Udacity School of Business and provides hands-on practical experience in digital marketing.

The program is specially designed for beginners who aim to start a career in digital marketing. It includes a total of 7 modules that cover all major skills in Digital Marketing and should not take more than 3 months to complete this course.

Here are the modules it includes:

  1. Marketing Fundamentals,
  2. Marketing Data & Technology
  3. Social Media Marketing (Elective)
  4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  5. Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
  6. Digital Advertising (Elective)
  7. Email Marketing (Elective)

Well, every module may look small to you but it comprises many lessons. For example, In Social Media Marketing, you will have lessons on customer journey, understanding different social media platforms, how they work in marketing, how to run organic and paid social media campaigns, and how to create and manage ads on Facebook.

Similarly, every module includes valuable lessons that can’t be missed or skipped. You may learn these skills on YouTube also by following some good channels but the way Udacity structures the modules is truly commendable.

You learn each concept from the beginner level and are asked to complete projects in every module. These projects are then reviewed by experts, and you receive feedback as well.

The best part, you work on real projects, and run actual AdWords and Facebook campaigns, and Udacity provides you with a budget for that.

After completion of this course, the instructors will also guide you on creating a better resume and optimizing your LinkedIn profile. They will also connect you with an open network, allowing you to network and land a job easily.

From my research, I found that Udacity Nanodegrees is not accredited by any universities or institutions. They are not legally valid. These certificates are issued by Udacity itself, and their recognition comes from some tech companies who knows Udacity as a learning platform.

After completing this course, you may add the Nanodegree certificate to your resume and LinkedIn profile to showcase your skills in digital marketing. Please note, that these certificates may increase your chances of getting a job but do not give you any guarantee of a job.

Is Udacity Digital Marketing Worth the Investment?

I did a random search on Google for the best digital marketing course, and I found some websites featuring Udacity Digital Marketing as one of the courses.

Yes! I also believe this course provides a lot of value to learn and deserves a rank in the best digital marketing courses. However, I found the cost is somewhere high.

If you can afford the course, you may go ahead and pursue the course with a Udacity subscription. However, I find the Google Digital Marketing and E-Commerce Professional Certificate a good alternative to this course that costs you very little while offering similar course content.

In fact, I have published separate reviews for both courses on my blog and from my research and experience, I’m giving this verdict.

Yeah! Google Digital Marketing Certifications does not include any project and provide feedback but teaches you similar topics.

What A Graduate Says about Udacity Digital Marketing Nanodegree Program:

As I mentioned in the beginning, I got a chance to connect with Shreya, a Digital Marketing Nanodegree graduate, and asked for her view on this program. Here is what she said:

It offers flexibility and allows you to learn at your own pace. However, it can be slightly expensive. They provide one-on-one feedback, real projects, and various resources like running ads and implementing SEO. They also grade your work and expect you to meet their standards before progressing further.

Regarding career services, they don’t directly provide them. Instead, they connect you with an open network, allowing you to network and take the next steps. Perhaps I didn’t explore this aspect thoroughly. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive much assistance in finding a job, but I did gain valuable upskilling opportunities.

In conclusion, the Udacity Digital Marketing Nanodegree is a little expensive but the course is worth it for learning digital marketing skills with hands-on experience.

I’d also suggest checking out the Google Digital Marketing Professional Certificate and reading my detailed review for this course. I have also published a detailed review of Udacity Digital Marketing Nanodegree on my blog as well, which you may also read.
