How to deal with zombie leads
You know WHAT I am talking about:
Wondering if the new leads who have joined your list recently are actually ”real” people, just more bots.. or actual ”real” people who act like zombies, AKA never open your email, never buy, never engage at all.
Well Yann Brainy has an answer for ya.
When this happens to you, there are two specific actions to take. In fact, the first is more preventive, whereas the other occurs in the heat of the moment.
In the action..
YES! I’m referring to double opt-in to begin with.
Without double opt-in, it’s a very incestuous business… You advertise on Google or Facebook, bots join your email list — at your expense too (it’s all they can do..). And since they’re not real people, most of them won’t open your emails. So, with little engagement, you may be considered for the PROMO tab, or even worse, the ESSPAMM tab.
Several years ago, I was advertising with google search ads and facebook ads for specific diets. When I had my list cleaned up (you learn as you go along — Yann Brainy was still training to become an affiliate marketer…), I took the plunge… half my list was bots, “zombies”…
I still operate this business (under a different name) today, but I use a different method.
The problem is that today, many email opens are no longer tracked by software, so you won’t know if it’s a bot or not.
Double opt-in, my friends, is the way to go.
The other tactic is simply to write more often.
You don’t like to write? Talk.
You don’t like to talk?
Then, I am sorry. Sales is not for you.
If you communicate more frequently with your audience,
People will qualify themselves. Those who don’t buy will unsubscribe, while others will make a purchase. Whether in 2 days, 2 months or 2 years, they’ll buy.
