Day 5 Email: Tactic 5 — Test! Test! Test!

Hi First name,

I’ve already covered most of the next level tactics you can add to your email marketing strategy that will boost your leads and sales. On the last day of our challenge, the final tactic is to measure and test different elements of your emails to see what’s working and what’s not.

Testing is a critical part of email marketing success. You can measure the effectiveness of subject lines, email content, layout, design, and more. Split testing (or, A/B testing) allows you to put two options up against each other and see which one wins.

For example, you can test which one of your subject lines is better (A or B) by sending half of your test group version A, and the other half version B. The one with the most engagement ‘wins’ and is sent to the rest of your list.

There are many benefits to split testing your email content.

.Increased open rates: Split testing allows you to analyze the performance of subject lines, email body copy, and other elements to determine what resonates with your audience. This helps to ensure that your emails are opened and read.

.Improved click-through rates: By testing different elements of your email content, you can determine which elements are most effective in driving clicks. This helps to maximize the impact of your emails.

.Better conversion rates: By testing different elements of your email campaign, you can determine which elements are most effective for driving conversions.

.More engagement: Split testing helps you to identify which elements are most effective in driving engagement. This helps to ensure that your emails are seen and read by the right people.

Test every element possible. The best way to discover what works best is to let your audience tell you.

Today’s Action:

1. Test the automation you just set up in the previous step. Split test the subject line with and without a personalization tag (e.g., the recipient’s name) and then check results.
