Finding Your Niche
This week, digital business fundamentals for people starting or leveling up online based on 24 years earning online.
Almost everyone struggles to stand out.
People think it’s all about finding your niche.
That’s part of it, but the real secret is something few understand.
“Niche 101”
Niche is a 2 sided-coin:
1 side is THEM.
The other side is YOU.
THEM:
Start with the big three:
- Health
- Wealth
- Relationships
Then, niche down 3 times based on where you have “before and after” credibility.
For example:
I lost nearly 70 lbs with the slow-carb diet.
So niching down three times looks like this: Health > Weight loss > Slow Carb Diet > Slow Carb Diet for men over 40 who want to lose belly fat.
YOU:
Clarify your “what for whom.”
• Where do you already have credibility?
• Who is already looking for you?
• What’s the 1 big problem?
DM me to get “The Dilbert Secret,” a Google Doc that guides you to find and articulate your “what for whom.”
The rest is synthesizing and testing.
Now, the Big Secret no one else tells you.
“Offer a different path.”
The best positioning is based on either a false belief or a missing piece that’s keeping your client stuck or stopped. Your goal is to offer a different path to what you’re clients ultimately want.
For example:
People want to be more productive. Everyone else offers conventional coaching, an online course, or an app — all of which add to the problem.
What I offer is an “accountability sprint” where clients meet with a coach every day for 15 minutes for 21 days.
Result: Focus, speed, done.
The goal they want, a different path.
