How much money you got? Or more accurately “How much money can you lay your hands on?”

I guess you can make the argument for the question “What kind of business do you want to run?” But the deciding factor, whatever type of business you want to dive into, will always be “How much money do you have or can you get.”

Your choices of business models are almost endless… Do you want to open a retail store and if so what type? Clothing? Grocery? Hardware? Or maybe a Restaurant? How about the type of cuisine you will serve? Maybe you just want a small shop where you sell handicrafts and knick-knacks?

Or, how about a franchise? Those are normally a pretty safe bet. They are usually proven successes, like a McDonalds, Starbucks or Tim Hortons. But, have you ever looked into a McDonalds franchise fee, that’s what you pay McDonalds for the privilege to sell their hamburgers. The current price to open a McDonald’s restaurant is, according to “Franchise Direct”, $481,000 (on the low end) to a whopping $2.45 million! And McDonalds will forever own the land under your store because they are THE largest real estate holding company in the world!

There are many different franchises out there and if this type of business model is what float’s your boat then I encourage you to do your research and pursue this avenue.

After doing my research and reflecting on my own circumstances, financial and personal, I chose to pursue an online business model. Specifically “Freelance Digital Marketing” otherwise known as “Affiliate Marketing”. Below is a visual explanation of how it works.

What were my reasons for choosing Affiliate Marketing?

1. I was DEAD BROKE and in DEBT! There is virtually little cost for starting an affiliate business. Other than the cost for trainig and some necessary tools, even these can be found for free or next to nothing if you do some research.
2. I am 61yrs old with no retirement plan, so I don’t have alot of years left ahead of me to start building a second career in life. If you put the effort in that is required, are persistent and show up regularly being an affiliate can pay off in spades. But there are no guarantees. But that goes for anything in life.
3. Having worked physical blue collar type jobs all my life I am physically exhausted and have developed some major health issues. So I need a way of earning an income that is not so physically demanding and working at a computer is much nicer than poundig a fence post or stretching barbwire. Did you guess I am a fencer by trade?

4. I want to be able to travel where I want and when I want. Having a digital business will allow me to do this. I can take my laptop with me where ever I go in this world and as long as I have access to a wifi connection I can work my business and continue earning money. Yes even poolside in Hawaii.

5. I want to take back control of my life and no longer give that control over to someone else, like a boss!

6. To throw my alarm clock away! (Just why do they call it an alarm clock?)

7.To NEVER again have to ask permission for time off to be there for my loved ones! I don’t think I need to clarify!

8. To earn money while I sleep. Affiliate Marketing allows you to leverage systems. 24/7 your funnels, emails, videos, etc are continually working and earning you money. People sleep, systems and tools don’t!

9.Too look forward to getting out of bed in the morning…. Or maybe sleeping in today. No matter, my business makes me a “Passive Income” which means I make money whether I get out of bed or not.

10. Finally to be able to show others and help them change their lives and circumstances because I know out of 8 Billion people on the face of this earth I am not the only one who have these reasons to change.
